December 4, 2010: Retail Manager Job Posting

We have an immediate opening for a Retail Manager. This is a full-time position, working 9-5, Monday-Friday in Austin, TX. The Retail Manager will be responsible for the retail side of Warehouse 23 and e23, including customer service, website maintenance, warehouse maintenance, inventory control, shipping, and stock selection.

Candidate must meet these requirements:

• Management experience is a must - the Retail Manager (RM) will be responsible for overseeing a minimum of two staff at any given time.
• Should be a gamer, fully in tune with the hobby and capable of understanding what our customers would like to buy.
• Computer and net literacy are required. HTML skills will be necessary but can be taught.
• Must be capable of clear and organized writing.
• Retail experience, particularly experience with direct sales through web or mail order, will be a big plus.
• We always prefer a fast learner and a self-starter.
• Should probably have own transportation, as the RM will be expected to be available on short notice if an emergency arises, or to work late if need be.

Physical Demands of the Position: The employee will sometimes be responsible for rearranging inventory; this will require lifting and moving packages weighing up to 30 lbs. Should not suffer from any condition which contraindicates working with packages of this weight. Should not be adversely affected by dust and allergens that are common in a warehouse. A significant amount of typing is necessary. Should not suffer from any condition which makes typing difficult or painful (and should take appropriate ergonomic precautions to avoid the possibility of repetitive stress injury).

While not required, other qualifications that we would find particularly useful include:

• Familiarity with our products
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Open Office
• Experience as a buyer or assistant buyer for a retail store.
• An academic knowledge of marketing.
• A general knowledge of basic business accounting.
